A range of DURAN® borosilicate glass tubing

DURAN®

Ever since it was invented by Otto Schott in 1897, DURAN® has set the standard for borosilicate glass tubing. It remains a leading material for laboratories, industry and architecture thanks to its strength, versatility, resistance and vast range of dimensions for a variety of worldwide applications.

DURAN® is a registered trademark of DWK Life Sciences GmbH.

A true all-rounder

DURAN® glass tubes, rods and capillaries can be processed in a wide variety of dimensions, with very tight geometric tolerances and high optical quality. Its high geometrical accuracy and outstanding transmission properties offer further advantages, and given its robust mechanical durability and thermal shock resistance, DURAN® remains highly effective in harsh environments.

Applications across the board

While DURAN® has been the go-to glass for laboratory and industrial applications for many years, it can now be found playing an important role in numerous other areas, whether that’s in photobioreactors for the cultivation of algae, or in architecture, art and interior design.
