Dr. Torsten Derr | SCHOTT CEO, effective Jan 1, 2025

Welcome, Mr. Derr

Dr. Torsten Derr will take over as the new CEO of SCHOTT AG on January 1, 2025. The PhD chemist has been CEO of SGL Carbon since 2020. In his new position in Mainz, he will be responsible for SCHOTT’s Tubing Business Unit as well as the corporate functions Research & Development, Compliance & Legal, Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, and Strategic Development. He will also serve as Chairman of the Supervisory Board for SCHOTT’s subsidiary SCHOTT Pharma.

Dr. Frank Heinricht

Bye bye, Mr. Heinricht

Dr. Frank Heinricht, Chairman of the Management Board of SCHOTT AG, plans to retire on December 31, 2024. He has been heading the company since 2013. During this time, sales rose from EUR 1.9 billion to around EUR 2.9 billion, and the equity ratio increased from 19% to over 63%. The basis for this success was strengthening SCHOTT AG’s innovative capabilities combined with a growth strategy as well as developing a transparent, growth-oriented company culture.

Marcus Knöbel

Welcome, Mr. Knöbel

Marcus Knöbel, Executive Vice President of the Business Unit Advanced Optics, was appointed to the Management Board of SCHOTT AG as CFO with effect from September 1, 2024. He succeeds Dr. Jens Schulte, who has been a member of the Management Board of SCHOTT AG as CFO since 2016 and stepped down by his own choosing on April 30, 2024.
