Ultra-high resolution imaging: Nano waveguide solutions
Understanding nano waveguide imaging: How it works
At the core of SCHOTT’s nano waveguide technology is TALOF – a quantum mechanical effect where wave diffusion is suppressed in disordered waveguides composed of two or more carefully engineered optical glasses. By reducing the diameter of the structural elements to as small as 750 nm, our waveguides achieve resolutions far above 200 lp/mm, with light localized within spots as small as 1.5 µm. This capability far surpasses the limits of conventional fiber optic imaging, which relies on total internal reflection.Comparison of TALOF waveguides and traditional fiber optics
