Technical Details of Cut-to-Size Substrates

SCHOTT is committed to innovation and excellence, which is why our products’ technical properties set a uniform high standard. From CTE range to production techniques, our extensive portfolio of cut-to-size substrate glasses offer a proven ability to perform in all situations to the highest of standards.

Technical excellence across the board

Broad CTE range

SCHOTT cut-to-size substrates are designed to perform in a wide range of environments, which is why their coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) is a key consideration. With CTEs ranging from 3.2 x 10⁻⁶ / ºC – 9.4 x 10⁻⁶ / ºC, there are few fields in which SCHOTT glass cannot meet the challenge.

Thicknesses and sizes to suit

SCHOTT glass cut-to-size substrates have to perform reliably and fit precisely in a variety of applications. We achieve this by offering multiple cut-to-size formats and thicknesses ranging from 0.03 mm up to 25.40 mm.

Mastery of production techniques

SCHOTT employs a number of unique hot forming methods, including down-draw for thin glass, up-draw for homogeneous clear flat glasses, and microfloat for robust chemical and thermal properties. In addition, our cutting, seaming, and laser-marking methods set new industry standards.

Quality processing

All SCHOTT processing methods strictly follow the latest international industry standards, with a number of customization options available. Whatever method suits your requirements, we are always happy to work with you to create a tailored solution.
